Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the muscles and other soft tissues of the body (by stroking, kneading, or rubbing with one or both hands or an instrument) by a massage therapist for therapeutic purposes in order to relieve pain, promote healing, or improve physical functioning. One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing.
Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced. Our trained and certified RMTs are focused on helping patients treat various pain and medical conditions they may be suffering from. It is a prescribed treatment, not available to just anyone and is often covered by benefits.
